I really liked my lunch here today. I had a great bagel along with slices of chicken. This was at the Stratford. I wonder if Shakespeare had anything like this.

We needed a quick place to stop for a bite and this place was perfect. I ordered a chicken, Brie and cranberry on baguette with a side of roasted potatoes and my mom had a veggie pizza on baguette. Both were delicious and my mom gave me a bite of hers. Definitely will try to replicate this myself at home! My sandwich was good and just would have liked a little more cranberry sauce on it. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and crispy. Such a cute place and great service. If I ever find myself in Stratford Upon Avon again, I would pop in. Homemade desserts too!

We stopped here just before our tour of Shakespeare's birthplace. It was during a rushed time and there was a lot of confusion about orders and food.
We didn't see a menu, but the deli case in front of us seemed to be the menu from which folks were ordering. I pointed to a quiche and asked for 'quiche'. The cashier said it was a potato bake. "Do you have quiche?" "No, that's a potato bake." So I said, I'll take one of those. Naturally he ordered me a potato bake. I also ordered vegetable soup. My companion ordered something. We paid and then were directed to our table.
Eventually the order came. My soup was delicious. My potato bake appeared to be a baked potato covered in cheese. My companion didn't want her goat cheese, so I added it to mine.
At some point, the server came over and said why was I eating a jacketed potato -- it belonged to another table. I said it was delivered to me. She left it and I guess prepared another jacketed potato for another patron. Then she showed up with my real order -- the potato bake. A chopped up potato baked in a rather delicious creamy sauce with onions and leeks and small veggie bits.
As we left, I looked in the deli case and noticed that they still had quiche on view. I guess my American English and his Brummie English just didn't mesh enough for me to have it.
Prices were reasonable -- we both ate for about $25 in a very expensive city. The food we received was pretty tasty. -

If music be the food of love, then this establishment needs to turn up the tempo.
First reasonable prices and a good selection of food and friendly service almost directly across a pedestrianized street from Shakespeare's birthplace. Good seating. A pot of tea fills two teacups.
Orders were taken promptly - then it all started to go south. Three people were served within 5 minutes with hot dog, hot panini and chicken; the fourth meal, another hot panini, arrived 20 minutes later, after the first three diners had almost finished eating.
Two dessert crepes arrived a full 40 minutes after ordering. All told the service was polite and the food was good, but the speed of service was far below acceptable. We were told afterwards that the crepe machine had to be warmed up - we might have been warned it would take 40 minutes!
